How to Root Sony Xperia SP (C5302 / C5303 / C5306) Jelly Bean 4.1.2 [Build 12.0.A.1.284 / 12.0.A.1.211 / 12.0.A.1.257]

 

Do you want to root your Sony Xperia SP?? An easy rooting method is available for Xperia SP (C5302 / C5303 / C5306) Jelly Bean 4.1.2 [Build 12.0.A.1.284 / 12.0.A.1.211 / 12.0.A.1.257] . Thanks to DooMLoRD for the root method.

To root the latest Jelly Bean 4.1.2 Firmware 12.0.A.2.254 , Click Here.

Disclaimer : I am not responsible if you brick your phone or if u make any other damage to your phone

So Lets Start :

1. First of all make sure, your Build number is 12.0.A.1.284 or 12.0.A.1.211 or 12.0.A.1.257 . Go to Settings > About phone to verify this

2. Download This File  - DooMLoRD_Easy-Rooting-Toolkit_v17_perf-event-exploit and extract it completely using WinRAR or WinZip.

3. Enable USB debugging from Settings > Developer Options.

4. Enable Unknown sources from Settings > Security.

5. [Optional] Increase screen timeout to 10 minutes from Settings> Display> Sleep> 10 minutes.

6. Connect USB Cable to phone , then connect it to your Computer.

7. Now go to the Folder where you extracted the downloaded file from Step 2, and execute "runme_win.bat"

Note :- This toolkit works on Windows , Linux as well as MAC , Linux users Run "runme_linux.sh" and MAC users Run "runme_mac.sh".

8. Read and Follow the instructions on the screen!

9. REBOOT THE DEVICE AFTER THE SCRIPT HAS FINISHED EXECUTION!!!


Note : This method works on both locked and unlocked bootloader devices!!!

Follow all the steps properly it will work , also make sure adb drivers are installed (If u install Sony PC Companion and connect ur phone with usb debugging on ,adb drivers are automatically installed) also when before executing runme_win.bat , make sure u exit all other adb related program like Sony PC Comapnion , Flashtool ,etc.

it is my frst time to root my xperia sp, c5303 12.0.A.1.257.
i will just ask cuople of question.
before i root my device, should i back up all my files firs?
second, is the process will delete all my data on my device like my installed apps, videos, pictures. etc.? thanks for promt reply

Yes Backup your files , but the process wont delete any data , but a backup is recommended in the worst case scenario anything goes wrong (which is 0.01% likely to happen)

If this happens you have some problems connecting your device with your PC , either ADB Drivers are not installed or you are missing some steps.

nvm fixed the problem. Improve the destructions with. Extract to a folder on the dektop.
fully extract... winrar does that and then shows u the files extracted in winrar.

Try again from start , and install Root Explorer or Titanium backup to check if u have gained root access or not , also check whether SuperSU app is present in the app drawer or not
